From the Foster:

Blackhawk is a cute, short pup! He is a Corgi mix and is very adorable. People love him! We get many compliments on his looks when we take him on walks. Blackhawk is dog-friendly and he loves people! He hasnt met a single person who he hasnt liked. He isn't super demanding for snuggles or pets, but he will follow you constantly like a shadow. He just loves to be near his people! When he does ask for affection, though, his favorite spot in on his back (by his tail) or behind his ears. When you scratch by his tail, he will roll over or act silly! He just loves it.

Blackhawk rarely barks except when he's alone. It would be best to put his kennel near you, otherwise, he will cry. He will not cry if you are near, and will sleep very soundly throughout the night.

Blackhawk also has no interest in jumping up on couches or beds. He prefers lying on the floor or in his dog bed.

He is still learning some commands, but he knows sit and come here very well!

He is a very polite dog and he doesnt jump up on you a lot when you come home. He will jump up once to greet you, but after you tell him down he will happily get off.

When taking him out for a walk, he will sit and wait patiently by the door until you put his leash on. He is a pretty great walker. He does pull when excited, but a quick tug on his leash to your side will snap him out of it! He does not bark at oncoming dogs or people that walk by but is interested in them.

Blackhawk is a very calm dog, so he would do great in a townhouse or house. An apartment is not the best home for him because he may bark during the day and we wouldn't want him to annoy any neighbors.

Blackhawk isnt very high maintenance, he always finds a way to entertain himself or he will take a nap until you decide you want to take him on a walk or bring him to the park for his daily exercise. Sometimes he will even throw around his own ball and chase it.

Since he came into our home, he has had only one accident (which was from being overly excited) and ever since he has been very good with going to the bathroom outside. To be safe, you should take him out 30-40 minutes after meals, that tends to be when he often needs to go. He also drinks a lot of water, so you may need to take him outside a bit more frequently depending on how often you fill his water bowl (because he will drink it all if it is filled)

He is very friendly when it comes to other dogs. He plays well and hasnt gotten aggressive with other dogs when playing.

He doesnt play with rope toys so much, he would rather chew on them(or a good rawhide bone!). 4/9/18 12:56 PM
